Hey all!
First off, happy holidays (Xmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa) and happy new year! I've just been getting back to 1/6th projects due to *finally* getting some time off from work and classes.
Anyway! Recently, while going through reference pictures, I stumbled on a set of NVG photographs of Rangers at night:
I've also been working steadily away on a D-Boy project with all the new bells and whistles, so I decided to combine the two projects. The setting for the piece is near Khost, Afghanistan, in 2014; it is a "soft-knock" raid, meaning that suppressors are used and the assaulters patrol in from several kilometres away (I believe that's the correct term). The D-Boy - an assaulter from A Squadron - is leading the Ranger sniper to a suitable overwatch position, when the D-Boy notices a (very drowsy) sentry.
