二战中具有转折意义的战役之一：阿拉曼战役

　　1942年10月23日，第二次世界大战中具有转折意义的战役之———埃及的阿拉曼战役揭开序幕。阿拉曼坦克战是第二次世界大战中，英军与德意联军为争夺北非战略主动权而进行的一场大规模坦克交战。
　　
        1940年8月，意大利法西斯军队进攻英属索马里（今索马里北部），遭英军反击溃败，意军局势危急。为控制中东地区，与发动太平洋战争的日军遥相呼应，希特勒令德军统帅隆美尔率德“非洲军团”进入北非，支援意军。在1941年夏季至1942年秋季的多次交战中，德军屡次击败英军。但由于德军主要陆、空力量深陷苏德战场，无力抽调更多军队增援北非战场，而英军在美军支援下，利用海空优势，切断德军油料、弹药供应，使德军陷入极大被动，不得不多次在有利形势下停止追击行动。1942年以后，战场力量对比发生了有利于英军的变化。英国第8集团军司令蒙哥马利元帅在得到大批美国“谢尔曼”式坦克，“解放者”式轰炸机及各种大口径火炮补充后实力大增，拥有坦克1100辆，飞机1200架，总兵力增至23万人、而德军“非洲军团”和意军仅有12个不满员的师约8万人和540辆坦克、350架飞机。蒙哥马利遂决定发起进攻，围歼隆美尔指挥的德意驻北非联军。1942年10月23日，经连续3天航空轰炸和1200门火炮约20分钟火力准备后，英军从阿拉曼西南地中海沿岸到卡塔拉盆地之间约60公里的正面，向德意军防线发起全面进攻。从南线进攻的英13军“沙漠老鼠”装甲师和北线的英军第30军团遭受德军火力和雷区阻滞，进展缓慢。但因隆美尔9月份因病回国治疗未归，接替指挥的施登姆将军于开战当天死于心脏病，德军陷入无人指挥的混乱状态。10月25日，在希特勒严令下，隆美尔返回战场指挥，但德军海上供应在英美海空力量打击下损失惨重，运输油料的3艘油轮被击沉，致使隆美尔坦克部队因缺油无法发动反击。
       蒙哥马利在初次进攻遭挫折后，很快调整战役部署，隆美尔也将全部战略预备队调至英军主攻方向。28日夜，英军在北部海岸地区突破德意防线，隆美尔将第21装甲师调至滨海地区抵抗，在48小时消耗战中，英军尽管付出4辆坦克换一辆德军坦克的惨重代价，但由于其在数量上占有绝对优势，至战斗结束时，仍有800辆坦克。而德意联军只剩下不足200辆。11月2日，德军对进攻中的英军发起反击，但因缺乏空中掩护，部分坦克被击毁，反击失败。为避免被合围，隆美尔决定西撒，并将意军淡水储备和汽车全部掠走，意军4个师向英军投降。随后，英军开始全线追击，至1942年2月，德意联军在英军追击下，退守利比亚与突尼斯交界的马雷斯防线固守，至此、阿拉曼战役结束。
　　此次战役，英军以其海空优势，封锁和破坏对方后勤补给线，使德军难于在沙漠地区机动兵力和持久作战。英军根据地形、敌情、及时改变部署，集中优势兵力，实施正面进攻，以德意步兵阵地和有生力量为打击重点，使德军坦克部队因缺乏步兵支援难以固守阵地只得退却。德军则利用沙漠草原地带布雷迅速的特点，广泛设置雷区，依托高地进行防守，以近战火力重创英军（杀伤英军1.3万人，击毁坦克500辆），对阻止英军集群坦克进攻起了很大作用。但由于德意联军兵力、兵器、油料、弹药、粮食和饮水都得不到补充，终于被英军击败。
　　阿拉曼战役，英军歼敌5.5万人，击毁坦克装甲车350辆。但因英军冲击不果敢，行动迟缓，未能全歼德意联军。尽管如此，此役仍是第二次世界大战非洲战场的转折点。从此，战争主动权落入英军手中。
