<B>Description</B> - This is the MSS (Modular Stock System), developed by Magpul Industries Corp. It "features a receiver extension tube, which acts as a modular base for a selection of fixed and collapsible stocks." (from the Magpul information sheet). The stock configuration can be changed by the individual soldier without need for an armourer. I don't want to parrot everything from the <a href="http://magpul.com/" target="_blank" >Magpul</A> site here, so please visit it and read the <a href="http://www.magpul.com/mss/mss_handout_3.pdf" target="_blank" >description of the MSS (pdf. file)</A>. My experimental stock (thank you, Richard) came with a very well illustrated installation booklet which made it simple to install in just a few minutes.
Besides being radically different in looks, the MSS differs from all the other collapsible stocks on the market as it offers a consistent and comfortable cheek weld due to the fact that the stock does not fully enclose the buffer tube. The cheek rests on the buffer each time. With most other collapsible stocks, the cheek will sometimes end up half on the stock and half on the buffer, which can be a bit uncomfortable.
